A true life story of a young man, who struggles with forgiveness due to childhood trauma
An old neighbour came visiting to see my mom. In his words; Each time I pull off my jersey in the field and see the scar on my belly, I always remember the woman that saved my life.
He claimed he came to show appreciations to my mother for saving his life, but 90% of the time, he kept lamenting these words, "Daddy pushed us to the street".
He is the last child of a family of 5 children. His father was a tailor and his mother sold beans cake.
About the age of 9, he practically poisoned the family's drinking water, with hope to murder all his siblings, so he could have just enough to eat.
Though his father earned a reasonable income, he was so irresponsible. He doesn't provide and he never cared for his family. They lived in lack and constant starvation. It got unbearable at a point, coupled with the fact his father physically abused his mother at any chance he got. His father could buy food and eat in front of his starving children, comfortably watching them drool for a spoon, he was really a terrible father.

But today, his father is just a sick old man, living at the mercies of his children.
The beauty of the story isn't the fact that the children are now successful, but the beauty of the story is the fact the never abandoned their father, even though they have every reason to.
They still struggle till date to forgive him, but they took care and provide for him regardless.

Do you think they didn't abandon their father because of what people may say?
Do you think they will forgive their father eventually?
What would you do if you were in his position?
