A poem about a found letter.
A weathered page within a dusty book,
A heart laid bare, where time forsook.
Not meant for me, this tender, whispered plea,
A love unknown, penned for eyes I'll never see.

Perhaps scrawled by hands now touched with years,
Bearing words long dried by fallen tears.
Or maybe penned in youth's impetuous flame,
For a love eclipsed, forgotten but by name.

Do I know the writer's soul so bold?
The receiver of secrets stories hold?
A grandmother's blush, a grandfather's stolen sigh,
Or lost dreams of strangers passing by?

Should I fold the pages, leave them be,
Let fading ink preserve their mystery?
Or dare to trace the words like hidden seams,
Unlock a heart woven through timeless dreams?

The letter trembles, ancient secrets stir,
The weight of untold longing feels like her.
Perhaps I seek its owner, turn the tide,
Let old words flow where new hearts might collide.

Or do I stand in silence, play no part,
And gently honor this forgotten lover's art?
For some loves blossom with gentle, tender grace,
While others burn bright, then leave not a trace.

This crumpled note, this glimpse into the past,
Speaks not of endings, but of love that had to last.
And who am I to question or intrude,
When all love stories hold their quiet solitude?
