Tragedy leaves her all alone
He didn't say why
he left that day.
I didn't ask,
I had nothing to say.

Two tired souls
Who tried everything
To keep those promises
Love often bring

She came into the world.
Eyes so like mine
She had your smile
Our child by design

Her time was short
They told us so
But here I am
You had to go

I sit by the firelight.
My tears went dry
Brokenhearted
Questioning why

You packed up
Walked out the door
Now, here I sit
Starting at the floor
