Enchantment

From nothing,
a human conjures
combustion
chemically
like a rabbit from a hat
which once was empty

suddenly
space is occupied
by heat and
by flame and
by something ambiguous
maybe magical

hypnotized
the conflagration
fed and fueled
glad to rise
shifting in shapes and colors
blended and changing

vanishing
toward oblivion
each bright flare
of burning
offers light generously
as if infinite:

sleight of hand
a coin from thin air
tossed into
reaction
lifted into flickering
and reduced to ash.

This is an interesting one. A syllabic poem. probably also from Spain. It has six lines - (a sestet) with a syllable pattern:3/5/3/3/7/5

I want out

up early
tired fast…
perhaps a vacation brings
some well deserved rest
