Young eyes watch a prayer at dawn
Dawn Prayer

A shadow’s still whisper, bent to pray;

Without pausing thought beyond the glass;

A hidden shade at break of day;

While dawn o’er sill begins to pass.

Unceasingly onward, the day is so greeted;

Not understanding, the watcher still stares;

A heart laid bare, all wishes secreted;

A soul surrendered, revealing all cares.

The advent of morn, at wake of the earth;

On silver dew, evened in glowing array;

Is laid heart’s desires, conditions of mirth;

Without which t'would be folly to enter the day.
