This is a poem about part of my personal Christian testimony.
Looking back at my life, I see how I really was,
Never seeking anything in life, and doing wrong just because.

I longed for love, for peace for care,
Just to know that someone was always there.

Listening to SCC's song about a prison mate,
Who accepted Christ while in prison, and saying it was never too late.

Helped me see that even though our sins are many,
Jesus paid for each one of them, to the very last penny.

He loved us so much, that He set us free,
By the death on a cross made from a broken old tree.

I don't deserve it, I repeated in my head,
But I know God loves me and died for me instead.

So as I listen to SCC's song once more,
After my sins were washed away, and Jesus knocked on my door.

I was the prisoner set free by God's mercy and grace,
And now my life ahead is marked to finish that awesome race.

So let me remember where I was before,
When I was lost, alone, broken and tore.

Remember the pain of all Jesus went through,
The cross, and the grave, and the raising up too.

For if it wasn't for Him, I'd have to say,
I wouldn't be here to see another day.

My eyes would be blind, my ears would be deaf,
I'd be lost all alone, with nothing left.
So as I hear the song, let me think back,
Of my new life, Nothing I lack.
