Why does my heart still ache?
This poem applies to some dear ones that have experienced this heart ache. It takes forever to get over it. You know who you are.

BE FREE MY HEART

Many years have passed without you
Which helped relieve old wounds.
But memories play exacting tunes
And my heart throbs with every beat.
It still wishes you here.

It’s wonderful how time heals
The hurts of deceit
The never-ending quarrels
The jealous accusations
That pulled us apart.

Still I remember the magic moments
Of love’s tender joining
And every rhythmical beat.
The vows that we made
That we would always stay together.

Why does my heart still ache?
I know I’m better off without you.
So why can’t I release the steel grip
That holds this love in bondage.
Be free my heart and let me love someone new.
