Just a day in the life of a dying woman in pain.
Just Another Day

I wake up early
hoping to see you
But you're never there
By my bed, to say hello.
You never call anymore.
I think you're afraid
to get too close again.
I think you know the truth.
I'm dying, I think you know.
You don't want to deal with it,
but do you think I do either?
I'm scared to die,
I'm too young to go.
I need to see your face,
just one more time.
You never come visit me
in my hospital room.
You're afraid of the needles
in my arm
and the tubes
in my mouth
and nose.
But do you think I
like them anymore then you?
No.
But, this is just
another day
waiting to die.
