Some may find it a bit controversial.
I speak of no god, I speak of no devil
I trust none of good, I trust none of evil
I believe in no heaven, I believe in no hell
I see no holy light, I see no darkness
But I am not faithless, I am rational
Preach my good man of your evil-hating god
Tell me all about where I’ll be buried in his sod
Look my daughter at the Monkey running church
Speaking of the high & mighty from his tufted perch
But I am not faithless, I am reasonable
So many fairytales pouring from your books
I bring you news, not everything is as it looks
A pale trio we call one, daddy son and ghost
Polytheism faking mono just so they can boast
But I am not faithless, I am logical
Light you candles, repeat your tomes, gather round
Stain you glass with his blood, praise his body’s ground
Say his name, use it light or heavy as you do
Just know not a word you say is really true
But I am not faithless, I am man born of nature
So many say one, yet he has so many names
Then like Russian roulette we play so many games
Deciding who we like, like deciding when the bullets fire
And if they have two gods, automatically they are a liar
But I am not faithless, I am a scar to your pews
Seeking something greater, I say is nothing wrong
So long as you can see a different person’s dawn
Worship is only figurative, not meant to be taken literally
It’s why I see all your rituals and little songs as silly
But I am not faithless, you are faithless
