I want to live life fully, without worrying about my fate!
THE BURNING FLAME

To live among the sorrows of life,
remembering all the colours of strife,

To taste not the berries and the icecreams,
to live not the stuff of our past dreams,

To plant not the hug and the romantic kiss,
to give all the beautiful things in life a dreadful miss,

To live a life full of promise in vain,
To humble oneself in fetters and in chain,

To be mesmerised by all that is stark,
And not fly in the sky like a fearless lark,

Hardly fits my thinking, I dare say,
to keep all the fun of living at bay,

I WILL do as I please, I declare,
I WON'T live a life of despair,

E'en though it may be known later,
That I was a reality hater,

I have too many tasks still to do,
Too many open frontiers to yet woo,

Were I to hail darkness and doom,
For excitements of today, there'll be no room,

And so, today, I shall continue to walk,
Not brood, not halt , and not talk,

About a million dreams is all I can see,
This poem, Taher, is, after all about ME.
