In Memory of Diana Princess of Wales
I looked for you; you were not there,
Then I felt a strange chill in the air,
How long I’d waited I wasn’t sure,
But if I had to, I’d wait for evermore.

They said that you had already passed by,
Overwhelmed I just felt that I had to cry,
The loss I felt when I realised you’d gone,
It just seemed so very, very wrong.

I’ve seen the picture and the flowers,
I’ve thought of you for endless hours,
I thought I’d wake to find it was a nightmare,
That you’d still be there, your love to share.

I stayed and watched that final day,
Around the world our grief conveyed,
My heart finally broke, and I felt so stark,
As they drove you through the gates, of Althorp Park.
