My take on depression as written for a monologue contest.
For every negative there is a positive buried somewhere.
Take depression. Yes, there is an Up side to depression. You tend to sleep more, which gives your tired body some much needed rest. If you are one of the lucky ones, You may go off your 'feed' and lose a few pounds. Now that's bound to make you feel better.
You may also notice a savings on your water bill. You don't shower as often. You also don't change your clothes everyday. Another big savings on laundry and everyday wear and tear on your clothes!
A tank of gas lasts longer. Who feels like going anywhere looking like you do ? Not to mention, if you also suffer from panic attacks, like I do, you often can't make it to the mailbox at the end of the driveway let alone get into a car and drive anywhere.
You often take pleasure in the simpler things in life... like staring. I can sit and stare for hours and be just fine. Just in my own little world, but it's OK, they know me here.

Hey ! Maybe I am not depressed afterall.... I'm just thrifty

Now I would like to tell you what it is like to have Adult Attention Deficit Disorder but, I've lost interest as I am sure you have, too.

Thanks for reading !
