Speak to me of dragonfly wings,and speak to me of pearls.
do not talk of mundane things,
I'm just not one of those kinds of girls.

paint for me a butterfly
with wings of black and gold
crown my head with ornaments
and say i'll never grow old

cherish me each and every day
hold my hand a while
tell me that you love me
and treat me to your smile

the pearls they are your wisdom dear
the butterfly your freedom sings.
the dragonfly you should not fear
speak not of earthly things.

for earthly things, they pass away
and time will not stand still.
