For the Poet's Prompt Contest, about wanting my soul set free...
Oh, heavens help me!
Dry the blood from my wounds,
drain the pain from my soul.

I beg you to help me,
I cannot do this anymore,
so I look above for guidance.
The peace,
simplicity of love,
is all that I seek.

Still,
the sun will not set tonight,
one motion will end it all
breaking the restraints
that strangle me within.
Relief, is all I ask for.

My angels,
let my soul escape,
allow it to be free.
To soar above the anguish,
the sorrow,
and Life’s continuous aching tortures.

Please...
I fall to my knees begging,
for the end of the silent screams of pain.
Please...
the words are whispered
from behind my lips.

Opening my eyes slowly,
my pleas become silent.
Wishes sink down to reality.
The pain,
It lets you down hard
back into the world.
As these wishes remain glimpses of hope.

Oh, heavens help me!
Dry the blood from my wounds,
drain the pain from my soul.
