A poem about sailing ships and the men who were their Masters.
The Mariner

When you look to the open water
Do you see them flying
Beautiful ships on gossamer wings
Above them the white gulls crying

From pleasure craft to ships of war
I have commanded them all
On every sea around the world
I have followed the siren's call

I am the tamer of wind and sail
of water and of men
I am the master of the ship
No matter where or when

The great ships are gone now
faded into history
But I will always be remembered
The Mariner of the sea.
