..........
SLUMBER OF A TRAVELER

He has been walking for so long now
And he is tired, he wishes to rest
So he sits and he relaxes on the curb
And thinks about things he knows best

His mother disowned him long ago
So he no longer looks to her for care
His father tried to murder his friend
And so he no longer can judge him fair

All these quiet moments run through his head
But now he will have nothing more to dread
Soon he will end up sleeping, sleeping red!

He stands again and continues walking on
He sees a stone and so he kicks it far
He remembers how he wanted fame
He remembers how he wanted to be a star

Cleverly he looks to a lady up ahead
She is dressed in black and she looks so cold
He walks to her and her hand is outstretched
This is nothing, they won’t call him bold

All these quiet moments run through his head
But now he will have nothing more to dread
Soon he will be sleeping, sleeping red!
