poem on depression/mental illness...
Smiles slowly fade as the day drifts away.
Laughter disappears as it's replaced with fear.
Smiles turn to frowns as ups turn to downs.
Laughter turns to cries as my mind begins to die...

I can't take this endless roller-coaster.
Go ahead, put my emotions on a chart and poster.

Stick me with needles, feed me your pills.
Tell me I'm insane, you know the drill.

Lock me in a cage, that's where I belong.
My life's a mess; it's totally wrong.

Pass me my food through the door
as I lie there, crying on the floor.

Write down my thoughts, maybe my dreams.
Tell me nothing's what it may seem.

Day turns to night, night turns to day
while my life is constantly put on display.

Smiles slowly fade as the day drifts away.
Laughter disappears as it's replaced with fear.
Smiles turn to frowns as ups turn to downs.
Laughter turns to cries as I slowly die...
