Looking from the outside in.
She fell into a deep black hole in which you give up your every essence in order to feel loved and wanted. She gave everything she had to feel needed. Like she belonged. In return she was bitten repeatedly and viciously attacked by the savages she called her friends. They drained her of life and took away everything that made her special. Her once sparkling eyes have become dull and emotionless. She fell into a deep black hole and she's trying to claw her way back up. With dirt underneath her fingernails, and blood dripping from every crevice of her hands, these savages that she knows so well, stomp on her hands, making her fall down to the jagged rocks at the bottom of the seemingly bottomless pit. The rocks tear away pieces of her skin, but she gets back up and starts clawing her way back to the top. Only this time when she gets halfway to the light at the end of the tunnel, she finds that one of these people eating friends of hers, that stomped on her hands as she was trying her best to make her way back to the outside world, has also fallen into the hole. Instead of taking the opportunity to push her friend down to the jagged rocks at the bottom of the seemingly bottomless pit, she let's go of the grip she has on reality, and helps push her friend back up to the top. In return, once she makes her way close to the top with blood and dirt covered hands, the friend that she so graciously helped back to the top, stomps on her bloody hands, forcing her to lose her grip and fall back to the bottom.

Once upon a time I would have looked at this girl in disgust and shame for she continued to lend a hand to those who only stomped on hers. But as I reflect on this girl and on myself, I realize that I *am* this girl. With good intentions and a heart big enough to love even those I am hated by, I continue to try my best to claw my way back to the light at the end of the tunnel, and along the way I help people up who have done nothing but knock me down.
