A picture painted with words
HORSES IN THE SNOW

Like mounds of earth the horses stand
against the stark and pristine fields of snow;
Bay dirt, black soil, sorrel clay.
As the wind howls, their manes and tails blow
while forelegs strike, and hocks kick up in play.
They form an impish herd, a romping band
of snow beasts set out to print the land.
