A young lady won't let herself fall in love ecause of being hurt too many times.
Fears and Tears

Let’s see… how to start this?
I know… you’re the only one I’ve ever missed.
That day… when your eye’s met mine,
I knew without you I would never be fine.

When I start to speak my words are just a mumble
Yet without you my life I know I would crumble.
As you help me pick up my groceries that lay scattered on the ground,
When no one else had worked out, my true love I believe I have found.

I look down and try not to think of you,
I’ve been hurt too many times… no ones been true.
I look up again and see you grin,
Now I lie awake at three thinking of you again and again.

I passed up this chance because of my fear,
Down my face run my tears.
I sit alone and I cry,
Because I know without you I would die.

As the next day begins, I walk down the street,
In shame, I look down at my feet.
I feel a hit to my shoulder and fall to the ground,
I open my eyes to look around.

There you are, starring into my eyes with concern,
I knew what to do… for my mistake I had learned.
I kept hearing you say your “Sorry” and I begin to grin,
Now, I wake up to you every morning, again and again.
