A poem about knowing if what you have is what you want.
I knew this girl
I walked in her open door
She showed me this world
I knew why she brought me here for
I was tempted to walk in
But it’s just something to be ended
So I just stood by her porch steps
To see how good or bad it gets

After a while
I put her on trial
She never understood me
She could of got me…
I mirrored my expression
To her a confession
I told her we could never be
I told her to let me be

And she asked me
How I could walk out the door
And I told her
I was never actually inside at all
She looked at me
Finally she saw what I see
I said…

Count all your blessings
Wear your heart on your sleeve
Leave all your warnings
And next time warn me before
I know you too well
And it wraps us in silent’s shell

So I stood outside the door
And I wonder why I care for
But when you care to call my name
We both play a loser’s game
The scoreboard never lies
The game never dies

She left her door open
When I went home that night
To leave in the midnight air
I told her when the wrong moment was right
Like she know why I said nothing for
As I closed her open door

Count all your blessings
Wear your heart on your sleeve
Leave all your warnings
And next time warn me before
I know you too well
And it wraps us in silent’s shell
