abstract advice.
create the invisible.
hold it in your hand, it makes you smile.
styrofoam planets dangle from frayed yarn;
watch them spin in the sunlight from a distance.
everything feels different from afar.
look down onto your clorox-bleached city.
it's your home.
breathe it in.
in time,
the palm tree leaves will fall and trample you.
the sand will choke you.
the golf course green will rise in protest
and relocate.
it's all about location,
about sunshine,
so shine in on your dark room.
give your plants some food.
sing from your apartment window
and don't let her leave too soon.
hold onto everything that gives you joy.
rise and be heard
and be free
and be careful.
you never know who will jump out
of your lover's shadow,
so love with your eyes closed
and your heart open.
love your shoes
and the way the sun makes things move.
hold honesty by the waist;
escort her around town.
sleep on the sidewalk.
watch the sun drown
and the moon swim
above an irridescent dome.
take everything and make it your own.
never let go of anything.
love everything.
love,
me.
