A product of me, watching people in school. Please R&R!
You alienate us,
so slyly.
And release a manufactured laugh
right on cue.

Your girls flip their hair,
oh-so gracefully.
You flash your pearly whites,
maximizing the glare.

Your once melodious voice,
now distorted in my mind.
You are now one of those,
drinking their way through life.

Every puff of your cigarette,
every gulp of your drink,
You think numbs the sorrow,
but only bring you deeper in despair.

You glance at me,
with your now empty eyes,
seeing everything you no longer have.
Everything you try to replace.

I return to you;
a gaze confused.
Full of compassion and pity,
but lined with anger.

Time is so cruel
plowing everything and everyone.
Taking with it memories,
and friendships of gold that have gone
