Trying to perfect myself
Tried to do something
to calm you down.
Only succeeded in aiming
your anger at me.

Tried to change me
because you loathed
what you saw.
For that reason
you made fun of me.

Tried to say
what you wanted
to hear.
Because of that
you shunned me.

Tried to get out
but found
that I could not
without destroying me.

And so I did.
