Written for contest. Prompt: First To Fall
I was always the first one to fall
Whenever She walked into a room.
I would see her face and be enthralled
And know my feelings would soon be doomed.

I was way too short for her to see.
Too plain, I could never catch her eye.
It was always too easy for me.
All too soon she would just walk on by.

Each She was different and yet the same
As all of the shes who came before.
I'd yearn, then hunt. Try to stake my claim,
But my teenage angst would be ignored.

Decades have past and yet I have found,
I'm Still first to fall seeing her face,
But this She is one to which I'm bound.
My wife will always make my heart race.
