This is about a thief. She falls in love then loses him. This is a work in progress.
Maxine threw open the door and ran through. She glanced behind her as she rounded the hall corner. Five of them were after her, all drawing their guns. Shit! She thought, as she ran into the entrance hall. This is just great! She stopped and looked around. Where to go? The guards would know if she went through the door. It was the most obvious escape. But then again, it would be harder to find her. She heard the guards’ footsteps getting closer and dived at the door to put the guards off, but didn’t go through. Instead, she ran into a door off to the side, making sure to shut it quietly and properly. Now, where was she? She waited till her eyes adjusted to the darkness, then looked around. A kitchen. She noticed a door leading off to the side and headed towards it. She went through and found herself in a small hallway. By the dust, and the dank smell, she could tell it hadn’t been used for a long time. Either that of the owners of the house employed really, really bad cleaners. Oh well, she thought. This is better than nothing.
