Shadowed Desire

I’m tired of being here…
As the leaves are fading
All that once was is no more
What has fate brought me?
From outside this door

Upon this hour I’ve been reborn
Inside a flame, these broken piece
Have been re-foraged
And belong to a soul
Whose edge is newly formed?

I came out of the shadows
To reclaim my life
That was set on edge
And now I have the will to fight

Enclosed was my heart
Which was fading….
And had fallen
Inside the arms of
A dying heart

I was set upon revenge
I could not see
The tiny fragments
Of glass that slowly seep inside of me
Consuming me

Was revenge so sweet?
A desire gone wrong
To destroy my own soul
Among the ashes
Can I weep?

What wrong had been done?
That shook all my sanity
That took me to this place
Where wrong and right collide
That even now I can’t take sides

Sometime your soul has to find a way through
No matter what side you finally choose
Is Love enough, to pull you from hate?
To realize it is never too late
To redeem a soul once lost


That battle inside is the hardest test
Easy to lose, and hardest to win
But sometimes it’s a battle worth trying
Because there is a cost
It ‘s yourself you’d loose

When all seems far from hope
And desires of hate creep in
Hold onto the face within
The thing that keeps us sane
Courage to keep trying again


For all we say and do in this world
We are never truly alone
If we can stand to take the sword from the fire
And unsheathe it to burn a path
And strike at the shadows
To find our own desires

For beyond the shadows there is light
And broken piece can be brought to the fire
To be mended and re-arranged
To become stronger than thought before
Yet the choice is yours to seek

Will you stand there broken?
Or will you be re- forged.
To stand and fight whatever comes
Ready for battle and knowing you can win
For if you can conquer your own demons
There is nothing you can’t withstand!
