A poem about innocence
I used to wear ruby slippers.

Glittering,
Reflecting
Secrets on white walls

Skipping,
Tapping my way
Through damp hanging clouds,
The taste of
Sunlit dreams
Warm in my mouth.

Click my heels
Three times together,
Take me home.

Firmly buckled across
Small pudgy feet
Spinning ‘round
And ‘round in circles,
Tasting freedom
On my sweet-stained tongue

I used to wear ruby slippers.

Eyes closed,
A young heart beats
In time with the words
Over
And over,

Whispering:

“There’s no place like home,
There’s no place like home,
There’s no place like home…”
