A poem I wrote for my mom
You would never know
the burdens she's carried,
the pain she's endured,
and the hatchets she's buried.

Pure and rich
as solid gold
warm and resiliant
is the heart she holds.

A woman of such kindness,
empathy, and grace.
A woman whose worst times
have not hardened her face.

A woman who deserves
every good thing she acquires.
My respect is well-placed
in this woman I admire.

With a smile that could make
all the rainclouds retreat,
this woman has a way
of sweeping men off their feet.

Women, just the same
are in awe of her demeanor.
The magic of her presence
makes it refreshing just to meet her.

A woman lacking judgements,
prejudice, and hate.
A woman unaware
of the goodness she creates.

She makes my life worth living,
brings purpose to my stride,
gives warmth to my smile,
and fills my eyes with pride.

She is my mother, my teacher,
my idol, she's amazing...
The greatest person I've ever met
is also the one who raised me.
