These are some of my published and favorite poems.
MUCH TO LEARN

Come sit here, sit next to me
Let mommy read you a bedtime story
As I run my fingers through your golden locks
I thank the stars for my baby girl
Two years passed since your day of birth
I love you now more than ever
My love grows for you each and every day
As you grow older in mind and age
You are incredibly smart for such a little girl
Yet, there is much to learn
About this enormouse world
This is where you will learn what you need
Starting at home, starting with me

FAIRY TALE DREAM

True love is impossible to achieve
As impossible as a utopian society
Love is a fairy tale dream
That we would all one day like to see
There are some of us who come so close
Yet, it isn't even a little dose
Strong emotions are all we feel
Though, it may all seem so real
I may never experience the real thing
But just to be close is good enough for me

CHILDHOOD

Childhood
A time of no worries
No understanding of hate
All is pure and innocent
The world is a happy place

Childhood
A time of no responsibility
No knowledge of loss
No understanding of pain
The world is everlasting

Childhood
A time of laughter
All fun and games
Filled with love and joy
The world is a playground

FOREVER ENDOWED

The depression I feel
Is worse than anytime before
As it slowly seeps into my soul
I feel it ripping me apart inside
Yet by it's rules I willingly abide
It is my master, it is my life
It has called me to be it's wife
Upon it's lap is where I sit
Forever endowed am I to it

"WHEN?"

I can't help but to miss you so
How much I wish to be back home
I wanted so badly to visit you today
And I wanted to take you flowers at your grave
Though, I do know you have been here with me
Because you would never leave me alone to grieve
I just wish I could see you once more
And talk to you for hours; like we did before
With you around I was always happy
And it now seems like it will never be
It is horrible torture to put a smile on my face
Especially being here, in this place
No one could ever compare to you
And this, you know, is the spoken truth
It's so hard to go on without you here
And not be able to tell you my every fear
It was so hard for me to say "goodbye"
And even worse for me to just go on with my life
For that was the hardest day of my life
And I have since felt a void in my heart
I guess I just have to go on for now
Because I know that I will again see your smile
I know that day is sure to come
It is now just a question of "When?"
When can I see you again?
When will I have back my best friend?
When will you meet the love of my life?
When will I be rid of all this strife?
When will I talk to you again?
When will this all become true?

I GO TO WORK EVERY DAY

I go to work every day
I put my life on the line
I protect those who hate me
They hate me because I protect
I am a police officer

I go to work every day
I put my life on the line
I willingly fight furious fires
I help save people's lives
I am a fire fighter

I go to work every day
I take care of sick people
I make sure they get their medicine
I do my best to make them better
I am a nurse

We all go to work every day
We dedicate our lives to helping others
We give people our whole-hearted attention
We do this because we care.
