How can one gain an objective perspective on themselves?
Mirror, Mirror on the wall
Look at me, here and now,
Look what knowledge may flow through
But you’re wrapped in this quest too
And the waves of that make your surface unclear
So my quest becomes finding another to hear

They say the truest mirror is within
But they lie, ignorance their sin,
The mirror within is subjective, smeared
With the juice of self preservation, teared
The only way to true objectivity
Is through your observation of my honesty.

Combination of your perspective and mine
Creates yet another which may be unkind
But I’ve never cared for keeping feelings safe
I just want some kind of knowledge from this date
So allow me to uncover a little skin for you,
So allow me to uncover a little of myself for you,

Then we can throw away all pretenses such as rhyme scheme and courtesy
Tell me what you really think
Wait, no
First remove yourself from your own weight of problems, quests and biases.
Smooth your surface so I may see clearly this reflection made in you
I will mix it with my own top secret intelligence and find the reality with them both
And I
I will in return give you the same gift of reflection
But then you
You will run away.
