Life's Metaphores
"That's Life"

Life is a journey embarked on our own
Lonely it may seem and sound
But what adventures the great future might unfold
All boil down to the perspectives we each hold

Life lessons we learned and forgot
Results in history again to be repeated
Reminders are given and ignored
We learn the same lesson the tough way once more

People are met and no longer thought of
Played a part both big and small
Best friends becomes strangers and strangers becomes best friends
This is one mystery hard to crack

Things are received and given away
Everything you once loved is nothing more but mere toys
Perhaps it might be something like fond memories
But then again it is the past that cannot be relived

Why do things happen this way?
This was not what we expected
This was not what we wanted
And the simple answer is “That’s life”.

That’s life… That’s life
How convenient it is for us to say
Could this be an excuse for human laziness?
Laziness to think for a way around these problems

Promises are made and were taught to be kept
But no one ever does so what is trust?
Words of encouragement, words of love taught
All were used in exact contrast

That’s life… That’s life
How convenient it is for us to say
Could this answer just been accepted
To excuse humans from responsibility?

That’s life… That’s life
Is there no way to make a difference?
Taking a different perspective
Just makes us blind to certain things
