An escape to the seashore.
Today I walked a while with my friend.
The sea summoned us to its shore and our
eager anticipation bade us answer the call.

Sun-bathed sand soothed the water’s chill
as the tide chased our dancing footsteps,
filling the forgotten trail we left behind.

Giddy laughter drowned the call of the seagull
as the cool mist of the sea tickled our noses,
their hue pinkened by the waning light of day.

I turned to my friend and with a gentle tug
urged her to continue our truant recess as the
soothing call of the sea once again beckoned.
