Child meets a gentlre dragon. Second poem for the Poetry Prompt Contest Challenge
Dragons are sometimes frightning things.
They have yellow toenails and wide scaly wings.

Their teeth are big and their breath it does stink.
(That's because of their hot fire I think.)

But I'm here to tell you, all stories aren't true.
Some dragons are gentle and friendly and blue!

You see I was walking down a path one day,
You guessed it, you're right, a dragon blocked my way!

My knees were shaking and I couldn't run.
Then the dragon said to me, "Let's have some fun!"

At first I was afraid that I'd be his lunch,
But we started to play, have fun, yes a bunch!

We played hide and seek, he was easy to find.
It's really hard to hide a BIG dragon behind.

We giggled, we laughed, we did many things,
We sang, we danced, and I sat on his wings!

The next thing I knew I was up in the sky!
The wind on my face, we were flying so high!

When we came down, we were too close to a tree.
And he slid when we landed and then hit his knee.

When they're hurt a dragon can be mean,
And when they are mad, their scales might turn green.

When he got angry he began to pout,
Then stomped a foot, and gave out a shout.

It made me think of what my mom said to me.
When I throw a fit it's not a nice thing to see.

I played until late with my new dragon friend
And I was sad when our games had to end.

But we talked and planned and we'll meet again soon.
I can't wait to play with him on Friday at noon!
