A poem about a storm.
Children play in the warm sun
The day is bright, and spring is in the air.
People move about, enjoying the lovely afternoon.
As the day wears on, it appears to become dark.
Suddenly, a thick black cloud begins to roll in.
The sun disappears.

People begin to scatter.
Slowly, small drops of water begin to fall.
Quickly, the drops become larger -
And more frequent.
Lightning begins to light up the sky
Like the flash of fireworks on New Year's Eve.

The flashes are closely followed
By the deafening crash of thunder.
The storm has completely overtaken the day
Like a lion who patiently stalks his prey
Before pouncing.
And almost as suddenly as it began
It is gone.
And the sun begins to peak out
From behind the clouds.
