Just a pretty little verse that reminds me of those lovely summer nights!
An orchestra of crickets play
In summer zephyr sweet
         Air warm and damp
         In moonlit lamp
While plays the song of sleep

Twilight settles 'cross the sky
As whispered night-song sings
         Children fight
         To keep the light
Due west on golden wings

And there, a flicker, hazy glow
Disturbs the darkened air
         Then quickly fades
         In dusky shade
A murmured amber flare

The dulcet song and moment's flame
Weave as day subsides
         The stars gleam bright
         In solid night's
Sweet lilt of eventide
