A poem written when I was a child about how much I loved playing in the snow.
Author's Note: Just a quick note, I originally never intended to post this in my portfolio, but a contest I noticed convinced me to do so. ^_~ This was actually written by me when I was a child, and is one of my first poems ever. Just an interesting little tidbit I thought I'd share. I've been so tempted to edit this into some real form of poetry, but I find I can't do that to my younger self, so I leave it exactly as is. Well, after spell check. ^_~

A White Winter Kingdom
I step out, into the cold
All bundled up, I walk into the woods
And imagine myself, in days of old…

Stepping carefully, I look around,
Let out a little giggle, which shatters the silence.
I begin to dance, hardly touching the ground
With a flowing, windy white dress, I continue my dance.

I feel like singing, but disturb my subjects? Never.
So I dance, and they dance with me
I feel like I could dance forever.
Even if there’s no one to see.

Time flies with me, and I hardly notice
I enjoy it, I love it!
Dancing, - no flying! – in my solace
I don’t ever feel like resting a bit!

What’s that? What has shattered the silence?
My subjects stop dancing, rejoining their Kin
I hear it again, and I end my dance.
It is my mother, telling me to come in.
