Five quatrains dedicated to Bob Dylan

" Travelin Minstrel "

He started out playing in small coffee shops.
Soft-spoken young man with unruly hair
Writing and composing between bus stops,
you could listen or leave-he didn't care.

A better poet and minstrel is yet to be born.
Shared his inspiration in lyric and song,
His face these days, a little haggard and worn,
Remembering the sixties as he took us along.

He wrote about life and its eternal turmoil.
Adding rhyme and rhythm to our love of life.
Writing about the common man and his toil.
Often in stories of others' personal strife.

He still goes back there, this poet and sage.
Never forgetting his early songs and days.
No intros needed when he ascends the stage.
Famous for the poetry and lyrics he plays.

The legend of his music is now his famous lore.
He's set a high mark for those that follow for sure.
From guitar-picking fingers those songs did pour.
The legend of the minstrel will forever endure.
