Take it as you will.
I have fallen many times,
I have been called a fool because of my rhymes.
I have raised my voice when I should have been silent,
I have been passive and I have been violent.

I am human, nothing more than a man,
Of course I have fallen for many a stand.
But still I work my way through,
I have found my solace, and hope you find yours too.

Perhaps the words I quill are not enough,
Perhaps I don’t have the fabled ‘right stuff.’
Maybe I just don’t have dumb luck,
Perhaps really in truly I am just a schmuck.

But all in all this is my call,
In the end it may prove to be my downfall.
I seek what cannot be found,
But I will keep looking until I am in the ground.

I have at last found what I think is my voice,
In so doing I found the bravery to make my choice.
I will follow through no matter the repercussions,
Maybe get into a few childish discussions.

So now I simply want to listen,
Maybe see the dew on the morning grass glisten.
When I stand before my creator I have only one request,
To be able to say I lived according to his behest.
