Dreams can touch your heart in ways you never thought.
Last night you entered my dreams again
You were in my arms
A smile on your face
Suddenly the room fills with your laughter
Everything seems like it is meant to be
But then I wake and realize you aren't real
You've haunted my dreams for years
Never saying a word
Only a smile followed by laughter
If only the dream would continue
I only need to hear you say four words
Then I'll know
To look upon your beautiful face
And hear you say, "Mommy, I love you."
I'll promise to do everything in my power
To bring you out of my dreams
And into my arms where you belong
Until then I'll see you in my dreams
And there I'll tell you, "Mommy loves you."
As joy fills my heart
And trickles down my check
