I just love this poem and wanted to share it.
A candle lights my cell
My only company is loneliness
I look out and peer into the darkness
To see people in love
Why do I always seem to get the bad apple?
The person who breaks my heart
Leaving me to pick up the shattered pieces
Is this my destiny?
Never to find the one to sweep me off my feet
And take me away into the sun
Am I destined to kiss all the frogs I come across
Never finding the one to break the spell
And go off into my own fairy tale
Will I never see the "knight in shining armour"
on the white stead coming to take me away?
No! Alas I understand
My cup overflows with friends
But never will I find a lover
The one who will show me the sun
So I sit in my cell
Sweeping up the pieces of my broken heart
Dreaming I can change my destiny
With one more kiss
Please let this be the one
