A poem about being aware of each other and each other's feelings
The Injured Bird

In a horrific accident
The wings were broken
Disenabling it to fly
Saddened by this tragedy
The bird is still hopeful to fly once again
It jumps as high as it can, hoping to take flight
But the immense pain causes it to fall back down

While the other birds sing their merry tune
This little bird tries to join but is not like the others
It sings only about pain and disappointment
It’s voice sticking out like a sore thumb
Overpowering the others the people stop and take heed of something they had been ignoring for some time now
Everyone cares now
But it is too late

See, even though it hurt its wings it doesn’t compare to the pain in its heart
And even though they tried to care for the bird
Its heart was too weak to even stand treatment causing its demise
There are many birds singing but are going unnoticed still
What about birds who can’t sing will anyone ever notice them?
Can you hear me?
