straight

wish you could have seen her
she was as compelling
as a
  crooked frame
perched on the curb
singing to herself
as she waited for her bus

wish you could have been there
you would have wanted to
tilt her left a little
and you would have had to
touch her
   lopsided lips
  to do it

caring eyes
in a careless body
and you wouldn't have
cared less

cos she was hopeful
         wonderful
lonely
 and happy
happily waiting for you
to tease that hair out
of her eyes



or would you have just
walked by?
