An article that briefly explains guinea pigs in a fascinating way.
Guinea Pigs

Did you know that a guinea pig has red eyes? Or that they eat almost anything? Read on to discover the answers beyond these and other guinea pig facts.

Guinea pigs’ have very different bodies than humans, especially in their faces. A guinea pig’s nose is flat against it’s face, it’s mouth is split at the top, and they sometimes have red eyes. Why? Their eyes change color is response to the light entering them. Guinea pigs’ feet are built like a mouse and have ever growing toenails.

To care for a pet like a guinea pig takes responsibility. You must give them food and water, clean their cage, exercise them and clip their toenails, not to mention bathe them, brush them, and keep them in a comfortable habitat.

Guinea Pigs eat a ton! They will eat pellets, plus just about any fresh fruit, veggie, or non-poisonous wild plant you could find. A healthy guinea pig diet consists of pellets with vitamin tablets in it, timothy hay, and treats such as oranges, carrots, or lettuce. (Only a little, or they will get sick)

Guinea pigs make the most awesome pets ever!! Get one, you won’t regret it!!
