A Poem on the death of a loved one
Love has passed away.
Slipped from my hands like a fistfull of sand.
Making the days hot and dry.
In the harsh sepia glow of the sun
I try hard not to cry.
Making the cold, hollow nights
Longer than eternity.
Bitter white stars
Glare down from an inky black sky
And I can't find my love.
His spirit swallowed up
By Death's black maw.
And love has passed away....
