Summary of this Book...
Dante, a Breed warrior, is badly injured when he is found by vet Tess. Dante desperately needs blood to heal and ends up biting Tess. He plans to wipe her memory of the incident, but he finds out, too late, that she is a Breedmate and he has just bound them together forever. The story follows them as Tess discovers just who and what the Breed are, the two of them struggle to come to terms with their relationship, and the Breed fight a bigger battle against a new Breed party drug.
This type of Book is good for...
Anyone who love vampires, romance, and hot, kick-ass guys!
I especially liked...
I loved Dante. He was strong, he was sexy, he was smart, he had attitude but he loved with all his heart. Everything you want in a hero.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read more of Lara Adrian's books! This was not the first in the series, and after reading this one, I went to the beginning of the series, read all the books in the series and then waited impatiently for the next one! I thought this was the best book of the series, but while it can be read as a stand-alone book, you will appreciate the entire series a lot more if you read the books in order - there is an ongoing subplot that hovers in the background of all of them that eventually becomes very important.
This Book made me feel...
Satisfied. This is what I want from a book. I felt like I knew the characters personally, but I wasn't left with too many unanswered questions. I was happy for them, but it hadn't been too easy or simple for them to achieve their happy ever after. It wasn't too predictable... Yeah, I was definitely satisfied...but hungry to read more in the series.
The author of this Book...
Knows her characters inside and out. She has just recently released the 'Midnight Breed Companion' which is sort of a guide on the Breed. She never contradicts herself or stumbles on the Breed traits or has them act in ways that don't fit with their breed. She also manages to keep a very complicated subplot lingering in the background, that plays an ongoing role, and she uses this to tie all the books in the series together. Also, she uses past and future characters from the series as secondary characters in her novels, which is really nice.
I recommend this Book because...
It is truly enjoyable reading. And...there are more in the series!
I don't recommend this Book because...
If you can't suspend your disbelief and 'believe' in vampires, magical talents, etc for the duration of the book, this is not for you. She makes it believable, but you do need to suspend your disbelief. It's not true to life.
Further Comments...
At this early stage of the series, you can get away with reading the books out of order, but further on it becomes crucial to read them in order or you lose track of (and spoil the suspense of) the subplot that runs through them all.
