This is an excellent collection of work by Australian poets. The poems cover an impressive time span: 1823 to the date of the book's first printing, 1998.

I would definitely recommend the collection for any poetry lover. There is an impressive selection of free verse as well as some stellar traditional pieces. It is worth every penny.

The variety is awesome. The biggest plus for me, by far, is the incredible talent of poets in Australia. As someone who has never read more than a few individual poems by Australian writers, the collection was an eye-opening experience. I have found many new favorites.

I haven't finished reading the book, as I have been obsessing over a large assortment of poets that I discovered in its depths. I have been delving into works published outside the collection. As stated before, I found many new favorites already.
