Summary of this Book...
Author Timothy Underhill is having difficulty with his newest book when strange messages start showing up in his email trying to tell him something. But the real problem is he doesn't know who sent them since they have no email address from where they originated.
Willy Patrick, an author of YA books, believes she's losing her mind. She thinks her deceased daughter is still alive in a warehouse. What's worse, she's losing touch with reality; she's forgetting things she shouldn't, and now she wonders if she even exists.
These two characters soon meet and realize they have to join forces to help each other in a twisted tale of mystery and mayhem.
This type of Book is good for...
Anybody who loves a good mystery and Peter Straub would enjoy this.
I especially liked...
The idea of this: an author's own character comes to life and he finds himself falling in love with her, even though the character doesn't realize that he created her and he controls her destiny.
I didn't like...
It was little confusing at times. Straub has the main character, Timothy Underhill, writing the book, which is in itself a story inside a story (inside a story?).
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Go to the library check out Lost Boy Lost Girl, Straub's best selling book of horror and winner of the Bram Stoker Award.
This Book made me feel...
I've only read Straub before when he wrote The Talisman and The Black House with Stephen King. This book kind of gave me a feel for what he writes on his own.
I recommend this Book because...
Straub is an incredible author in his own right, and his talent shows in this book.
Further Comments...
As I said, I've only read his work before with Stephen King, but I've tried to read his best-selling novel, Ghost Story more than once. For some reason though, it just didn't capture my attention the way this one did. Maybe I'll try Ghost Story again someday.
