Summary of this Book...
AmazonJust hours after setting foot on a new planet, Cal and the crew find themselves caught up in an interplanetary kidnapping plot. Reuniting the suspiciously-silent young victim with her parents on their far-off home world will make Cal rich beyond his wildest dreams. Unfortunately, half the pirates and bounty hunters in the galaxy have the same idea, and they're more than happy to take the girl by force.

Me Throw in some pirates, hysterically broken AI, and mutant clones for fun.
This type of Book is good for...
Fans of Douglas Adams, people who'd prefer Adams if it wasn't quite so dry-humoured, fans of parody, and anyone with a sense of humour.
I especially liked...
The ongoing character growth from book to book. None of the characters are frozen in one dimension.
I didn't like...
The pacing of the middle was a little off compared to previous books in the series.
I recommend this Book because...
I recommend the whole series so far. Great characters, fun adventures, and SPACE stuff.
I don't recommend this Book because...
Fans of hard sci-fi who don't like their genre parodied might not enjoy this.
Further Comments...
Another great entry in the SPACE TEAM series. That said, this was not as good as the first three in terms of pacing. The middle suffered from some repetition, which didn't grind the story to a halt, but did result in some minor skimming on my part.

The plot was average, though there seems to be no end to the interesting characters Hutchison can develop. The main characters, and increasingly "the entity", continue to develop, mature, and get their hooks into the reader.

There were fewer laugh-out-loud moments in this volume than previous installments, but it is by no means an overall poorly written book. It was still plenty of fun, and despite a section of pacing issues, was a great adventure with my new favourite SPACE TEAM.

I will be continuing the series and likely exploring the author's other work.
