I recommend this Book because...
I was absorbed in this story from the first page, immediately relating to the protagonist and falling in love with the characters she meets as she pushes beyond her comfort zones to discover how she can be most useful in the world. This book surprised me in its depth and originality. Through Blair's wide range of characters, she gently prods the not-unfamiliar injustice that comes with racism and classism in a story that remains hopeful from start to finish.
Further Comments...
I chose this book based on the title, and half-expected to be disappointed for the same reason. I've read several great stories about serving tea (Becky Chambers) and mysteries that include tea and helpful dragons (Kim W. Watt), while being unimpressed by others. I'm thrilled I took a chance on Casey Blair.
